On the 14th Oct. 2017, China Daily Online reporter interviewed CSBC adviser Mr. Kai Hammerich over the internet.

The reporter asked questions covering 12 major aspects, from the huge transformation of the Chinese economy over the past few years, the market opening under the condition of global prevalence of "protectionism", the “One belt and one road" initiative, predicting potential areas of cooperation between Sweden and China, to the upcoming "19th National Congress of the CPC", among other issues. Mr. Hammerich elaborated on those issues and gave well thought about responses to each and every one of them.

Mr. Hammerich told the reporter: Over the past few years, China's economy has experienced transformation from a society based on production by cheap labor to a more consumer driven economy, to focusing on innovation and energy conservation and emission reduction, as well as focusing on R&D investment, and developing new energy technologies, in order to increase economic growth and competitiveness of China. This is a strategic step planned by the government due to the necessity and demand in the Chinese society and economy. Mr. Hammerich compared China’s "One belt and one road" initiative to the ”Marshall Plan” after the Second World War implemented in Western Europe, that is, the war-ridden Western European countries carried forward the spirit of ants, to cooperate and improve the infrastructure and to propel post-war economic recovery. The successful implementation of “One belt and one road" initiative championed by President Xi rests on creating a benign situation that benefits all the participating countries, and achieving a substantial win-win situation. Mr. Hammerich believes that the future areas of cooperation with an increased potential are: environmental protection and cleantech, life sciences and health care, automobile transportation, automatization and digitalization, and R&D and innovation. On the upcoming “19th National Congress of the CPC”, Mr. Hammerich said, President Xi and China successfully navigated through the past five years, of course the 19th National Congress is very important for the next five years. He believes that the president and his team are driven by the dream of rejuvenating China and will enable China to become the geopolitical and economic center of the world. The fight against corruption will continue having in mind that it has been an important issue for President Xi.

On the 16th, Oct. 2017, the CSBC director and responsible for liaison with China, Mr. Tang Bing, attended the thirty-first session of the National City's Foreign Affairs Service System Collaboration Conference in Yantai, Shandong, China. Under the session, Mr. Tang introduced the China-Sweden Business Forum, the first session of "one Belt and one road"  Sino-Swedish Cooperation Forum  successfully organized by CSBC on the 9th  October in Stockholm, to the representatives from provinces, municipalities, Foreign Offices and Foreign Affairs Service Departments. It made a great impression on all the delegates and attracted a great deal of interests.
